Design in Edit.
Run the show in Live.
Templates define the appearance and timing. Cues hold the content you need for each moment in the rundown. Preview gives you a place to check both before sending them to Program.
The template editor
Build a graphic from text, shapes, images, video and timers. The canvas, layer list and inspector work on the same selection; alignment guides help position objects precisely.
Check the whole In/Out sequence
Set each layer's delay and transition duration in the timeline. Play the sequence or scrub the playhead to inspect an exact point, then return to the canvas to continue editing.
Template editing guide →Preview is preparation.
Program is on air.
Load the next cue into Preview while other graphics remain on Program. Rehearse its entry and exit, check the values, then press Take.
When Auto update is off, prepared text and template changes wait for Update. Shared timer controls are different: they act on the timer source, including linked objects already on air.
Understand the Live controls →- Preview
- Load a cue for preparation.
- Take
- Run its entry animation on Program.
- Update
- Publish prepared changes.
- Out
- Run the exit animation and remove the cue.
A rundown you can prepare in advance
Use one template for several cues without duplicating the design. Keep a guest's name and role, a set of variable presets and the operator's notes with the cue they belong to.
- Arrange cues in named, color-coded groups.
- Collapse a group without hiding its on-air cues.
- Load saved variable presets when the content needs to change.
Route Program and Preview
to separate displays
Choose the displays in Output → Set output. Keep either output disabled when it is not needed, or assign separate key displays for a fill/key workflow.
Display changes must be confirmed within 10 seconds. Use the test card to check the route before sending graphics.
Set up and check your outputs →Data and operator controls
- Variables
- Keep text styling in the template and supply different values for each cue.
- Collections
- Link rankings to named data sources. Each collection keeps its own row design, layout, sorting and animation. Read the collections guide.
- MIDI and shortcuts
- Configure control mappings for operation. MIDI controls are inactive in Edit.
- Audio
- Choose independent devices for Program and Preview, and mute Preview when rehearsal audio should not be heard.
